QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED and technical certificate.
  • 6+ years’ experience in automated assembly including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts

Preferred:

  • Experience with SAP or other similar electronic systems

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot industrial controls (PLC, servo drive, HMI), pneumatics, and robotics
  • Ability to troubleshoot vision systems
  • Advanced ability to apply judgment to perform more difficult work where only general methods are available
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic drawings and schematics

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as printer, telephone, etc. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures equipment is set up and operates in a safe manner
  • Ensures that equipment is maintained in line with cGMP and 5S standards
  • Complies with all PPE requirements and coaches and supports all employees’ adherence
  • Communicate and coordinate production/automation issues with next shift automation
  • Responsible for communicating daily assembly issues to direct Supervisor  
  • Escalates and documents any malfunctions or abnormalities per company guidelines
  • Postproduction to enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and update logs as required
  • Provides input to engineering staff on areas for machine improvements
  • Communicates technical information to Automation Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers, and Quality Team
  • Performs a variety of diagnostic troubleshooting activities on assembly automation equipment
  • Makes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic repairs to assembly automation equipment
  • Performs equipment failure analysis, repairs, and scheduled preventative maintenance on robotic and automated equipment
  • Utilize industrial controls software to troubleshoot automation equipment
  • Sets up assembly lines and assists in operating production runs
  • Assists in installing new automated equipment and in moving equipment to new locations
  • Keeps accurate and compliant reports of all activities performed on each piece of equipment
  • Provides occasional coverage and perform the duties of a Manufacturing Assembly Technician
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position
  • Maintains spare parts inventory
  • Participates in Shift-to-shift hand-off and review of production performance utilizing dashboard(s)
  • Enhances team efficiency by training and directing the training of less experienced personnel as designated by his/her direct Supervisor.
  • Ensures that documentation practices are in compliance with cGMP requirements
